ABOUT 2017-18 BLOG!

National & local links galore!
New blog: motivational news & information,
featuring the Wesley Wolverine fastpitch team

Welcome to the new Wesley College softball blog for the 2017-2018 season. It is designed to celebrate the Wesley College fastpitch team, its players and the wonderful game of college softball.

PLEASE BOOKMARK PAGE...

We hope you will bookmark this page! It is especially created to be read by Wesley players, their families, friends, fans, potential recruits and their families as well as high school and club ball coaches – and really all fastpitch enthusiasts.

The blog will follow the Wolverines through the 2017 first semester’s strengthening and conditioning programs plus special events and workouts like the alumni game, fall-ball practices, and fall softball contests. After winter break, the blog will continue with posts about the full 2018 spring softball season.

CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS...

In the past, the blog posts often contained extensive photographs of every game and, even, almost every inning.

For the coming season, our focus will change to attract a broader audience.

This entire year, the bog’s emphasis will be placed more heavily on graphics and "can-do" motivational softball news and information from around the web.

These posts, as much as possible, will feature art and photos of the Wesley team and the individual Wolverine players.

BLOG FORMAT...

The blog, as can be seen here, is divided into three columns. There are “sidebars” on the right and left packed with links to the global softball world as well as information about Wesley College and this year’s Wolverine fastpitch team. These two columns may be updated at times, but for the most part, the sidebars' format will remain unaltered.

The larger center column -- what you are reading now -- displays the most recent news. Here are found the latest information, which will change frequently with new posts.

SOFTBALL RESOURCES...

The sidebars contain links to a wealth of content about Wesley College and the game of softball. Here you will find…

THE TEAM: Photos and background information about every current Wolverine softball teammate, including collegiate awards won by these players.

THE COLLEGE: A profile of Wesley College, its campus, sports teams, and it's feisty, but fun mascot Wally Wolverine, information about Reynolds DuPont Softball Field, data on the competitive Capital Athletic Conference (& a peek at 2019’s new conference!), last season's 2017 non-conference teams (with this season's 2018 opponents to be posted later).

EVENTS: Calendar of softball related Wesley events, links to popular blog posts, and a guideline for how to stay connected online with the team through the softball homepage, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

PROSPECTS: A fairly comprehensive guide useful for any softball prospects considering any college, but particularly geared for those interested in becoming a Wesley Wolverine!
