FALL BALL SCHEDULE

Fall ball, Saturday, September 30
USA Softball Friendly tournament
features 8 games, 6 D2 & D3 teams

Fans, friends, family of the fastpitch Wesley Wolverines are planning now for an exciting end of the month when five returning upperclasswomen join nine freshmen suiting up for the first time in a college softball uniform.

VENUE

The date is Saturday, September 30. The venue is the USA Friendly Softball tournament held at the first-class fields of the Delcastle Recreational Area & Softball Complex, Milltown (Wilmington), Delaware. The Delcastle fields boast ample stands and indoor restrooms.

SQUADS

The Wolverine challenge is a triple header against two DII teams, New York’s Nyack College Warriors and Delaware’s Goldey-Beacom Lightning, plus a DIII roster, New Jersey’s Rowan Profs, ranked fifth in the East.

SCHEDULE

The Wolverines play three games, all the while other games will be played simultaneously on neighboring fields. A total of eight college contests will happen on this Saturday between the aforementioned teams as well as separate contests for the DII Wilmington University Wildcats and DIII Swarthmore College Garnet. (See the schedule in the graphic below.)

For Wesley fans, it may be worth catching a portion of the Swarthmore games. The Garnet will play the Wolverines at home in a doubleheader on DuPont Field on 2018’s opening day(!), Saturday, February 24.

WEATHER

Late September’s fall weather, of course, is unpredictable. It may be warm, but it also can get cold, especially late in the day. Fans should dress accordingly. For players, bringing hand warmers may be advisable.
