BURN THE SHIPS


THIS BLOG’S REVIEW: Good, methodical, though long documentary (1 hour, 27 minutes) @ $3.99 (YouTube 48 hrs. rent) that takes you behind the scenes of professional softball’s Akron Racers’ 2015 struggle to win games and even survive as an organization.  
It emphasizes the hard challenges when “world's best players must choose between their livelihood and their dreams.” Focuses particularly on the day-in, day-out experiences of General Manager Joey Arrietta and third base player Kelley Montalvo. Excellent, short recap of the history of professional fastpitch near the beginning of the film.
